There’s a whole range of exciting career options in the science industry, across many different and fascinating areas, including food technology, biomedical science, forensic science, textile technology, microbiology, aerospace, clinical research and pharmacy. There will always be new things waiting to be discovered so there will always be a demand for scientists. You will have the opportunity to be innovative, research new possibilities, make breakthroughs and improve our understanding and knowledge of the world.
To be successful in this sector you will need an investigative and curious mind, be able to work under pressure, find solutions to problems, have excellent IT and numerical skills, be determined and have the perseverance to make ground-breaking discoveries!
You will have the opportunity to develop independent research and higher level thinking skills, problem solving skills and experience hands on, real world science! You will get involved in real-life practical tasks and work placements, which will give you a head start for degree course applications. Our students have recently showcased their skills in the Biology Olympiad and the Royal Society of Chemistry competition.
