Hartlepool Sixth Form students were given an insight into the opportunities available to them when they leave sixth form as part of National Careers Week.
During the week-long celebration which links education with the world of work, the sixth form hosted a series of careers fairs attended by more than 40 local and national employers, charities and universities who showcased their employment and higher education pathways.
The students benefitted from visiting the exhibitors, gathering information and talking with organisations in the sectors they are interested or may not have considered, as well as finding out about available courses, entry requirements and financial support if they have decided to study at university.
For employers, the fairs were an effective way to raise their profile and discover new talent.
Victoria Moyse, Work Experience and Placement Lead, said: “We would like to thank all of the organisations for attending our careers fairs, for showcasing their opportunities and supporting National Careers Week.
“Hosting events such as these is vital to showing students what is available to them when they leave college, highlights their next steps and really opens their eyes to the types of employers, training providers and universities located within the region.”
Hartlepool Sixth Form’s Careers Guidance Service offers all prospective and current students free access to informal and impartial information, advice and guidance on careers, professional qualifications and training routes, progression opportunities, job seeking, CV writing and interview skills and support with UCAS applications.
