After studying Health & Social Care at GCSE level, Tia chose Hartlepool Sixth Form due to the positive feedback from previous students and to help her get into university. She is currently working as a Mental Health Nurse in a Forensic Secure Hospital.

I studied Health & Social Care at GCSE level and I knew this course would help me get into university.
I had positive feedback from past students. When I visited different colleges I felt most comfortable at Hartlepool Sixth Form, and the Health & Social Care course looked interesting.
Being able to attend placements is an interesting area which would benefit my future career. The workload was appropriate to keep on track with.
They were very supportive and explained the modules in a way I could understand. They considered everyone’s individual learning needs.

Studying Health & Social Care prepared me to go to university to study mental health nursing. It gave me the skills to write academically and understand the caring role of the nurse. It gave me the confidence to achieve my goals.
Maths and English are everywhere! They are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and to progress to your dream career. A GCSE Maths and English qualification could be the difference between being accepted onto a university course or getting a job promotion.
